NYC transit workers contract rally

Greeting the new era of the ultra right wing trump presidential period, transport Workers Union local 100 rallied 5,000 of its 42,000 members to tell their boss, the MTA  that they are the working class we want a strong contract with significant wage increases and better health and pension benefits.  President John Samuelson paid homage to the 13 transit killed in the line of duty since 2002.  Also Pete Foley and fellow union activist Mike Jerome.  Both dying from work related illnesses.  Reducing and eliminating diesel fumes would a major contract demand. The contract deadline is January 15 2017 just 5 days prior to the Washington ceremony for trump.  ( which will be greeted with massive street demonstrations on the 20Th and a Million Women March on the 21st)
