A numerous delegation of WFTU headed by the WFTU General Secretary, George Mavrikos attended the May Day celebrations held in Havana, Cuba on 1st May 2017.
The participation of the WFTU delegation in the May Day celebrations took place in the framework of the 1st meeting of the WFTU Presidential Council after the successfully conclusions of the 17th World Trade Union Congress the last October.
The WFTU decided to organize its Presidential Council Meeting in Havana, Cuba in order to express its solidarity to the Cuban people and highlight the significant role of Latin America and the Caribbean for the class oriented trade union movement.
